Comparing BBL before and after photos is the most useful research you can do before choosing a surgeon, but only if you know how to read them. A Brazilian Butt Lift reshapes three things at once: the waist and back through liposuction, the projection and roundness of the buttocks through fat transfer, and the transition between the two. Good photos let you judge all three.
A side profile shows projection, but the back view reveals symmetry and hip shape, and the three-quarter angle shows how smoothly the waist flows into the hips. A trustworthy BBL before and after set includes front, back, both sides and an oblique view, ideally taken in the same standing pose.
Photos taken in the first few weeks are flattered by swelling. Roughly 20–40% of transferred fat is reabsorbed in the first three months, so results shown at 3, 6 or 12 months post-op are the honest ones. We label the time since surgery on every case in this gallery.
Dramatic shadows, arched backs, tilted hips or high-cut shapewear can add apparent volume to an “after” photo. In a fair comparison the lighting, camera height, distance and clothing are the same in both images.
Your result depends on how much donor fat you have and how your skin behaves. A patient with a BMI of 30 can usually achieve far more volume than a slim patient, who may be better suited to a Skinny BBL. Natural results have a smooth, continuous curve from the lower back into the buttocks, a defined but not hollowed waist, soft hip contours without visible steps, and projection that suits the patient's height and shoulders. The goal is a body that looks athletic and proportionate in clothes and swimwear — not an exaggerated shape that is more likely to change or cause complications.

You will notice a fuller, rounder shape straight after surgery, but that early look includes swelling.
